Heroes for Hope: Starring the X-Men – #1 (1985) : Arthur 'Art' Adams, Jim Starlin

Heroes for Hope came about in response to the devastating 1984–1985 famine in Ethiopia. The concept was in the spirit of musical fund-raisers at the time like the Live Aid concerts. Horror icon Stephen King wrote part of the story.

    I have this one and I remember it well. I never bought the ‘Do they Know it’s Christmas’ record so I made up for it by buying this comic book. (Wolverine placed squarely in the centre of the cover to draw attention on the magazine shelf and to increase sales for a worthy cause.) Inside were rather surprising drawings of starving children to show the true horror of the famine itself.
